In boys hockey the Morristown-Beard Crimson team has advanced to the Mennen Division’s Mennen Cup finals for the second straight year.  The team, which trains at Next Level Training, will face off against Chatham tonight to defend its 2014 Mennen Cup title.

Morristown-Beard defeated Chatham in last year’s final round by a score of 4-0.  At tonight’s matchup, which will take place at Mennen Arena at 8:15 p.m., the Crimson will seek its tenth overall title.

Best of luck to Morristown-Beard tonight!

In the Gordon Conference, Delbarton is headed to the Gordon Cup finals this Saturday.  The team, which also trains at Next Level, will match up against Bergen Catholic in a 6:00 p.m. start at South Mountain Arena.

Delbarton advanced to this year’s finals after a 4-1 semi-final victory over St. Augustine Prep.  Delbarton’s win came as a result of goals from Tyler Kobryn, Danny Farr, Kevin Obssuth, and Harrison Newman, as well as 27 saves from goaltender Troy Kobryn.  In case you missed it, Troy Kobryn was Next Level’s December 2014 (and first-ever) Athlete of the Month!

Next Level wishes Delbarton good luck on Saturday!

Next Level also congratulates all of our other teams for their solid performances in this year’s Cup Tournaments.  In a spirited battle on Monday, the Morristown Colonials very nearly pulled off a come-from-behind victory against Chatham, taking 12 shots in the third period of the game to cut Chatham’s lead to one goal.  We are very impressed by the effort put forth by Morristown!  We’re proud to say that this year’s Gordon Cup, Mennen Cup, and Haas Cup tournaments also saw hard-fought games played by Seton Hall Prep, Kinnelon, and Park Regional, respectively.
