
Bill Katinsky
General Manager/Head Trainer
Bill has been a National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) since 2008. Bill earned his B.S. in Exercise and Movement Science from William Paterson University.
Bill has been part of the New Jersey hockey community since his youth. Bill played hockey for Bergen Catholic High School, as well as Wayne Hills High School, where he still holds all scoring records. Bill played Tier I and Junior hockey for the NJ Junior Devils and NJ Junior Avalanche. Following a youth career, Bill played college hockey at William Paterson University, where he served as team captain and set numerous scoring records.
Post-college, Bill began coaching for several NJ Bandit NJYHL teams. Bill subsequently became an Assistant Coach at William Paterson University, where he helped guide the Pioneers to three straight League Championships and four straight National Championship appearances. Additionally, Bill was the Head Coach at Wayne Valley High School, where he was named the Passaic County Coach of the Year and NJ Power Ranking Coach of the year during the 2010-2011 season. That same year, Bill also guided Wayne Valley to its best season to-date, leading the team to a 20-3-4 record, a County Championship, League Championship, and first-ever State Quarterfinal appearance.
With over 10,000 hours of one-on-one training experience, Bill understands his clients’ needs and effectively customizes their training based upon their varying ages, abilities, and goals. Bill’s training expertise stems not only from his extensive qualifications, but also from having trained a broad range of clientele, from young kids to professional athletes. Prior to joining Next Level, Bill used his degree and training to work at the Hockey Factory, Fitness Together, and Gold's Gym.

Brendon Herr
Trainer
Brendon Herr has been an International Sports Science Association (ISSA) Certified Personal Trainer since April 2014, as well as an ISSA Youth Fitness Trainer since November 2010. Brendon holds a Bachelor of Science from Lebanon Valley College.
Brendon is highly skilled in developing sport-specific training programs, having worked for many years with National Hockey League (NHL) athletes, collegiate athletes, and young athletes in the 10 to 18 age range. Notable NHLers Brendon has trained include Eric Boulton (New York Islanders), David Kolomatis (Washington Capitals), and Kenny Agostino (Calgary Flames). He expertly trains athletes and non-athletes alike in weight training, resistance training, speed and agility training, and injury prevention. Brendon also is experienced in assessing members prior to training, performing circumference measurements, resting and target heart rate calculations, and blood pressure readings.
Brendon played Division III ice hockey for Lebanon Valley College in the ECAC West. Prior to that, Brendon played hockey for Wyoming Seminary Preparatory School in the Midwest Prep League.
A few years after he finished his four-year playing career at Lebanon Valley College, Brendon returned in the 2009-2010 season to serve as the team’s Assistant Coach and, midway through the season, became Head Coach. Brendon is currently Head Coach of the Chatham High School varsity ice hockey team.

Kevin Sanders
Trainer
Kevin Sanders graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition, Foods, & Exercise Science from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Kevin is currently pursuing his Doctor of Physical Therapy at Seton Hall University.
With an extensive knowledge of anatomy and physical therapy, Kevin brings with him a background of clinical physical therapy experience, working with individuals from ages 3-15 on joint mobility and range of motion, muscle strength, tone and spasticity management, postural analysis, and similar interventions. At Sportscare Physical Therapy, Kevin worked with patients on balance training, strength training, endurance training, and muscle reeducation. Additionally, while at Sportscare, he designed and administered initial evaluations and exercise programs, as well as guided patients on the safe and effective use of pulleys, weights, inclined surfaces, and other equipment necessary for treatment.
Kevin served as a Therapy Aide Intern at University Physical Therapy, shadowing physical therapists through patient assessment and evaluation activities in an outpatient facility. Prior to that, Kevin volunteered for over 200 hours at Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation in West Orange.

Heidi Avrov
Trainer
Heidi Avrov is a National Physique Committee (NPC) Registered Fitness Competitor and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Health and Fitness Education from Rowan University. She has a wealth of exercise knowledge, with a particular expertise in field hockey training, basketball training, personal training, and women's physique training.
Prior to joining Next Level, Heidi’s experience included working as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor, serving as a health and exercise science tutor, and working in an exercise physiology lab. In 2014, Heidi served as a presenter at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference for the National Strength and Conditioning Association, where she focused her lecture on the benefits of dynamic stretching over static stretching.
Heidi has also spent considerable time volunteering with individuals with special needs. She has led students with moderate to severe disabilities in practicing sports skills and in participating in fitness activities: Heidi has implemented appropriate exercise programs, and, when necessary, determined the modifications and accommodations most suitable for the students’ needs.
While at Rowan, Heidi played NCAA Division III field hockey and NCAA Division III women’s basketball; she was also the founder and president of both the women’s physique club and women’s club basketball team. Heidi was awarded Rowan’s Evelyn M. Reade Health & Science Award, given to the University’s top senior in Health and Exercise Science.


Ryan Martin
Trainer
Ryan Martin holds a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from William Paterson University. While at William Paterson, Ryan was a four-time member of a Super East Collegiate Hockey League (SECHL) championship team (2010-2011, 2011-2012, 2012-2013, and 2015-2016 seasons), as well as made multiple appearances in the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) National Tournament (2010-2011, 2011-2012, 2013-2014, 2014-2015, and 2015-2016 seasons). Ryan played for William Paterson's ice hockey club team.
As a former multi-sport athlete, Ryan understands the benefits of multi-sport athleticism—in particular, its role in improving the body's overall strength and conditioning. Ryan's expertise in exercise science, combined with his previous experience playing baseball and hockey, makes him an asset to Next Level's training staff.

Melissa Beatrice
Nutritionist
Melissa joined the Next Level Training team as a nutritionist in 2015. Melissa is educated in more than one hundred dietary theories and uses her wealth of knowledge to guide clients in meeting their health and nutrition goals. Through her own business, Melissa Beatrice Nutrition, she has regularly held workshops on nutrition for both individual and group clients, customized meal plans to meet clients’ needs, and led corporate wellness workshops.
Melissa is also a nutrition counselor at Fairleigh Dickinson University, where she earned her Master’s degree in Corporate/Organizational Communications in 2011. Prior to her postgraduate career, Melissa acquired her Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia in 2009.
Melissa’s nutrition experience runs well beyond her academic career. The challenge of having to find a balance between eating and staying fit was one of the factors that inspired her to pursue an occupation in the health industry – ultimately, it led to her becoming a Certified Holistic Health Coach from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in 2014.
She is certified with the American Association of Drugless Practitioners and holds a Continuing Education certificate from Purchase College, State University of New York.
