Next Level Training proudly welcomes two new trainers, Brendon Herr and Kevin Sanders, to its elite training staff.

“Brendon and Kevin bring a wealth of diverse experience with them,” said Donald Shauger, owner of Next Level Training. “They each have something unique to offer Next Level, and our clients will benefit from their extensive training knowledge.”

Brendon Herr has been an International Sports Science Association (ISSA) Certified Personal Trainer since April 2014, as well as an ISSA Youth Fitness Trainer since November 2010. Brendon holds a Bachelor of Science from Lebanon Valley College.

Brendon is highly skilled in developing sport-specific training programs, having worked for many years with National Hockey League (NHL) athletes, collegiate athletes, and young athletes in the 10 to 18 age range. Notable NHLers Brendon has trained include Eric Boulton (New York Islanders), David Kolomatis (Washington Capitals), and Kenny Agostino (Calgary Flames). He expertly trains athletes and non-athletes alike in weight training, resistance training, speed and agility training, and injury prevention. Brendon also is experienced in assessing members prior to training, performing circumference measurements, resting and target heart rate calculations, and blood pressure readings.

Brendon played Division III ice hockey for Lebanon Valley College in the ECAC West. Prior to that, Brendon played hockey for Wyoming Seminary Preparatory School in the Midwest Prep League.

A few years after he finished his four-year playing career at Lebanon Valley College, Brendon returned in the 2009-2010 season to serve as the team’s Assistant Coach and, midway through the season, became Head Coach. Brendon is currently Head Coach of the Chatham High School varsity ice hockey team.

"Brendon will be a great asset to the Next Level Training staff," said Bill Katinsky, Head Trainer. "He brings years of experience training the same style and the same type of athletes that we train here. He has an impressive background in hockey, as his knowledge of both the on- and off-ice parts of the game will only strengthen what we already offer here at Next Level."

Kevin Sanders graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition, Foods, & Exercise Science from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Kevin is currently pursuing his Doctor of Physical Therapy at Seton Hall University.

With an extensive knowledge of anatomy and physical therapy, Kevin brings with him a background of clinical physical therapy experience, working with individuals from ages 3-15 on joint mobility and range of motion, muscle strength, tone and spasticity management, postural analysis, and similar interventions. At Sportscare Physical Therapy, Kevin worked with patients on balance training, strength training, endurance training, and muscle reeducation. Additionally, while at Sportscare, he designed and administered initial evaluations and exercise programs, as well as guided patients on the safe and effective use of pulleys, weights, inclined surfaces, and other equipment necessary for treatment.

Kevin served as a Therapy Aide Intern at University Physical Therapy, shadowing physical therapists through patient assessment and evaluation activities in an outpatient facility. Prior to that, Kevin volunteered for over 200 hours at Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation in West Orange.

"Kevin is an exceptionally bright and accomplished individual, and he has a deep understanding of how the body works,” said Donald. “Having a trainer with a background in physical therapy will make the services offered by Next Level even more well-rounded and comprehensive than they already are.”
